Mark A. Lewinter, DACM, L.Ac. has a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine degree from Pacific College of Health and Science and a Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College. His interest in studying East Asian Medicine started at age thirteen when he was diagnosed with cancer. While undergoing chemotherapy, he also incorporated alternative medicine to facilitate his recovery. From that experience, Mark knows the importance of holistic medical care. He is a Diplomate of Acupuncture and a Diplomate of Chinese Herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Dr. Lewinter’s interest in the treatment of PTSD, anxiety and other trauma related mood disorders led him to extensively train and become a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. For ten years, Dr. Lewinter served as a board member of the Georgia Association of Medical Acupuncturists. He was a member of the Acupuncture Advisory Committee of the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners for four years. Dr. Lewinter is also a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine, and therefore is a specialist in treating infertility with acupuncture. Dr. Lewinter is licensed to practice acupuncture in Georgia.

Laura C. Bowman, M.D. is a 1981 graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina Pediatric Residency (1984), and Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology (1987) from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She is board certified in pediatric hematology-oncology, and directed the bone marrow transplant program first at St. Jude and then at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta/ Egleston. During almost 20 years of caring for children with cancer, Dr. Bowman became interested in Eastern Medicine. Her further positive experience as a patient receiving acupuncture treatment prompted her to pursue her interest. She graduated from Helm’s School for Medical Acupuncture in 2010 and joined Metro Acupuncture. Acupuncture is an important tool in the treatment of substance use and process disorders. Recognizing this area of need, Dr. Bowman obtained board certification in Addiction Medicine in 2021. Dr. Bowman combines her areas of expertise to provide integral medical, pediatric, and oncology care and pain management. Additionally, she offers acupuncture with appropriate assessment and pharmacologic treatment of substance use disorders (alcohol, opioid, stimulants, nicotine). Dr. Bowman also treats concentration disorders (ADD and ADHD) in both children and adults.

Andrea Lewinter, D.Ac., L.Ac. has earned a Doctor of Acupuncture degree from Pacific College of Health and Science, a Master of Acupuncture degree from Tai Sophia Institute for the Healing Arts, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of South Florida, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Russell Sage College. She is a Certified Nutritional Consultant, has formal training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and is an AcuDetox Specialist (ADS). In addition, she has gained certifications as a Gluten Practitioner, Frequency Specific Microcurrent and Mindfulness training from The Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy.
